Malt Extract: Smelled and tasted awful
Maybe I just didn't know what to expect, so I feel badly giving this a bad review when other seemed to like it. I bought this because my husband and I don't eat sugar and we wanted to have a malt. All of the malt powders on the market have sugar, so we got this thinking that we could make a sugar free malted. The smell was bad (can't even describe it) and it tasted bad.

Ok
It is ok, not really very malty (or maybe not malty by Australian standards). Could not taste it with vanilla in a shake, despite using half a teaspoon. Very strong smell.

Doesn't taste like malt
It's tasty, but it doesn't taste like malted milk or the malt balls you get at the candy store as I'd hoped, since actual malted milk and malt has gluten in it and gives me a reaction. It tastes a little closer to walnut extract than it does malt. Again, pretty tasty, but doesn't really taste like malt at all when I added it to my ice cream base, cookies, or milkshakes. I wonder if I got a mislabeled bottle?
