Our blue natural food coloring uses spirulina extract to add vibrant color without adding flavor or aroma. This water-soluble, plant-based liquid dye will be most effective in cold and no-bake applications such as ice cream, frozen desserts, shakes, smoothies, fillings, and frostings. Our blue natural food coloring for icing created blue shades that are more on the pastel, muted, and "dusty" palette, which is ideal for sky and ocean themed baked goods. This plant-based liquid color is water-soluble and will provide the most vibrant hues in low-temperature process or cold applications that have more acidic ingredients. This versatile blue natural food coloring is great for making colored decorating sugar, frosting, icing, and creamy beverages that look as great as they taste. Because this ingredient uses no artificial dyes, the final shades can fade significantly during high-heat applications such as baking or when left in bright sunlight for extended time periods.
Recommended Usage Amount: Use 1/2 to 3/4 of a percent based on total volume to start. Final color will be strongest when total pH is in the 4-5 range.
